Cherry Barbecue Sauce
1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
1 tablespoon butter
1 garlic clove, minced
1 cup frozen cherries, thawed
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/8 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon brown mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Chop half of one yellow onion and cut frozen cherries into small pieces.
In a small saucepan, saute onion in butter over medium heat until tender, approximately 10 minutes. Add garlic and cook for one minute.
Stir in the remaining ingredients. Cook, uncovered, on medium-low heat for 20 minutes, or until the mixture is thickened.
Brush sauce onto meat of your choice and marinate for 4-6 hours or overnight.
